Is TripBuddy free?
Yes, 100% - no fees, commissions or premium accounts. Posting trips, joining, chat, costs and checklists are all free.
How do I join a trip?
Find a trip, click "Request to join" and wait for the organiser's approval. Once approved you land in the group chat where the crew sorts out details. You can also message the organiser privately first via "Ask the organiser".
How do I meet people from the internet safely?
A few simple rules: 1. Check the organiser's profile - ratings, trip history and tenure on TripBuddy. 2. Talk in the chat before the trip - ask about the plan, accommodation and costs. 3. Arrange the first meeting in a public place, preferably during the day. 4. Tell someone close where you're going and with whom; share the trip link with them. 5. Stay independent - keep your own way back and a financial reserve. 6. Trust your gut - if something feels off, walk away. You owe nobody anything.
How do I recognise a trustworthy organiser?
Check their profile: ratings and reviews from past trips, the number of organised trips, tenure on TripBuddy and how complete the profile is (photo, bio, linked social media). The more traces of a real person, the better. When in doubt - message them before signing up.
How do trip costs work?
The costs module is for the crew's informational settlement: you log expenses and the app calculates who owes whom. You transfer money between yourselves - TripBuddy does not process payments and takes no commission.
Who can see my data?
You decide - profile settings let you choose what is public (age, city, ratings, trip history...). Private notes, personal costs, checklists and your places map are always yours only. See the privacy policy for details.
What if something looks suspicious?
Every trip and profile page has a report button - reports go straight to moderation. You can also block a user (they won't see your profile or message you). For urgent matters write to [email protected].
How do I organise my own trip?
Click "Post your trip", describe where and when you're going, set the number of spots and group composition. Approve requests in the organiser panel; the crew gets a shared chat, trip plan, checklists and costs. Takes 2 minutes.
